Michael England is a student in the Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician Program. He grew up in Tooele, and that’s where he is planning to raise his family. Michael and his wife are expecting their first child.
He didn’t like school in his younger years, but attending Tooele Technical College has rekindled his love for learning. With flexible hours, he can work to support his family and attend school to achieve his goals. Michael worked in the construction industry after high school, but he soon felt the strain on his body from physical work and temperature changes. Michael inherited a set of tools from his father. This helped him choose the Diesel Technician program because he wanted to “follow in his father’s footsteps” and he enjoyed working with his hands.
Michael said, “Without Tooele Technical College I don’t think that I would be able to accomplish school again. Tooele Tech offers all students from all backgrounds the chance to regain their love of learning and train for a career through affordable tuition, helpful instructors and flexible hours. I am happy to say that my educational journey is just beginning and I am grateful for Tooele Tech’s reboot.”
